Welcome to U of T Engineering! The First Year Office is here to help you make a successful transition to a new and exciting learning environment at the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering. Our goal is to give you the tools you need to make informed decisions during your first year of studies.

University and Faculty operations continue. Please check the above links regularly for new updates.

Following recommendations from public health officials regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the First Year Office is currently closed to in-person traffic; however, staff and advisors are working remotely and available to assist you (see below).

Advising appointments will be held by Microsoft Teams or phone. If you wish to book an appointment with an advisor, you can do so through the Advising Portal. If you are in another time zone and require an appointment outside of the hours available, please email your advisor and we will try to accommodate you. After booking, your advisor will reach out to you with details on how to connect for the appointment.

New! Contact the First Year Office through our Virtual Office Hours
Connect live with Hannah, the First Year Coordinator, through Zoom. These drop-in office hours are for general questions and information, and Hannah can assist you with a referral to other staff if needed. To allow for account-specific questions and answers we will admit one student at a time based on when you joined the queue.
Starting the week of October 26, 2020, Virtual Office Hours will be available at the following times (all times are Toronto local time/ET):

 

  • Thursdays from 2 – 4 p.m.
