Re-enrolment

When to Apply

Students who qualify for re-enrolment should review when to submit their re-enrolment application based on the term they would like to apply for.

  • Fall Term: The recommended application deadline is March 10.
  • Winter Term: The recommended application deadline is September 30

Students who qualify for re-enrolment and apply by the deadlines above will be guaranteed their re-enrolment in required courses. Although applications will continue to be accepted after the dates listed above, please note that applications after the deadlines will be subject to space availability. Eligible students are strongly encouraged to apply by the recommended deadlines.

How to Apply

First Year Students:

If you would like to return to the Faculty after a mandatory or short personal absence, review your academic standing in ACORN to see if you need to apply for re-enrolment or re-admission.

To review your academic standing:

  • Log in to your ACORN account and click Transcript / Academic History Options
  • Select display Academic History
  • Select display Complete Academic History.
Re-Enrolment

In most cases, students who are eligible for re-enrolment will see one of the following statuses in ACORN:

  • “May Proceed”
  • “Proceed on probation”
  • "Failed - Must withdraw for 8 months. Upon return, must repeat session "

Re-enrolment for students with the above statuses is generally guaranteed, provided students submit the re-enrolment application by the recommended deadline for the appropriate term.

Re-Admission

Students who are required to apply for re-admission will generally see the following:

  • "Failed - May reapply for admission"

Re-admission is not guaranteed. Students applying for re-admission should plan to submit supplementary documentation to the First Year Office to support their requests. Such documentation can include transcripts demonstrating successful completion of courses/programs at other educational institutions, letters of recommendation from employers, or other relevant documents.

If you are unsure of your academic standing after reviewing your ACORN account or have questions about re-enrolment or re-admission, contact your Academic Advisor in the First Year Office.

The re-enrolment and re-admission applications can be accessed through the Engineering Portal.
