Each of the 16 engSuccess Mentors is unique with different backgrounds and experiences that we are excited to share with you. As engSuccess Mentors, we are here to help you navigate challenges that come up through informal, peer-to-peer mentorship.

Diwen Jiang (she/her), Peer Learning Subdivision Lead 

Hi there! My name is Diwen, and I am an IndE 2T4 planning to step into the PEY co-op next year! I joined engSuccess to not only help you out but also share fantastic school life with all of you amazing students! Trust me, I am always as excited as you when exploring campus and as worried when facing challenges. However, I am prepared to lead you in a good way to best figure out your academic, mental, or other problems in life. Therefore, let’s be friends and strengthen ourselves on this journey!

 

Shrabanti engSuccess MentorShrabanti Biswas (she/her), Peer Learning Subdivision

Hi everyone! My name is Shrabanti but you can call me Shrub. I’m a CivE 2T2 + PEY pursuing a minor in Environmental Engineering. I just finished my PEY at OPG’s Nuclear Power Plant. I joined EngSuccess to help build the Skule™ community; from peer mentorship and silly activities in the Pit, to study nights and design teams. The community kept me going throughout my first year and helped me manage stress and find balance. In my spare time, I love reading, listening to music and hanging out with friends. I’m always available to chat!

Sadia Salwoa Saika (she/her), Peer Learning Subdivision

Hi everyone! I’m Sadia. My family and friends call me Saika. I’m a CivE 2T4 + PEY pursuing minors in Environmental Engineering and Engineering Business. I joined engSuccess to help you navigate through engineering because I know it can be overwhelming sometimes. I want to give you all the help that I can so never hesitate to reach out! We can talk about anything; our conversations will have no limits. I want you to enjoy Skule™ because it’s an amazing place to be in and I’m so very proud of everyone here!

 

Akram engSuccess Mentor

Akram Khan (he/him), Peer Learning Subdivision

Hi Everyone! My name is Akram and I’m a MechE 2T2 + PEY pursuing an Engineering Business Minor. I recently finished my PEY at CIBC and completed a research position in machine learning. I’m thrilled to be a part of the EngSuccess program as I know navigating engineering can be challenging, from finding internships to exams. In my free time, I’m a part of Robotics for Space Exploration (RSX) and enjoy keeping up with Formula 1! I’m super excited to meet you and chat about school or anything else!

Hey everyone! My name is Vidhi, and I’m in my second year of Chemical Engineering. I am thrilled to be a part of EngSuccess and connect with new people. Hi everyone! My name is Aiden and I’m a third-year Electrical Engineering student, pursuing an Engineering Business minor. Over the past two years, I have learned so much from my peers and I want to give back by supporting you in your Skule™ journey through EngSuccess. In my free time, I enjoy drinking coffee in nice cafes, watching movies, and playing bridge (it’s a card game). Looking forward to meeting you all!

Tarun Misra (he/him), Peer Learning Subdivision

Hello Everyone! My name is Tarun. I am in my third year of Computer Engineering. I have always believed the quote by Nelson Mandela that "education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." I feel that when we spread knowledge, we contribute to making our world a better place. I look forward to supporting my mentees. I strive to achieve a well-rounded personality such as by holding leadership roles and participating in Model United Nations. My hobbies include travelling, reading and various sports.

Christine Vu (she/her), Peer Learning Subdivision

Hi all! My name is Christine. I'm in my fourth year of Mechanical Engineering and recently came back from PEY. I have been part of the Mech Student Council and the President of the Skule™ Ski Club. I joined engSuccess to be a person that you can relate to and rely on for guidance. I can confidently say that my successes and failures happened for a reason, but my failures mean so much more to me, so take the risk! I hope to create a space free of judgment. Outside of school, I love travelling and anything that keeps me active. I would love to chat about anything academic, social or career-related!

Felicia engSuccess MentorFelicia Liu (she/her), Events Subdivision Lead 

Hi everyone! My name is Felicia. I am a third-year EngSci student in the Robotics option! I joined engSuccess to help support students who may be feeling stressed, alone, or overwhelmed with university life. What helped me was meeting people and working collaboratively so I hope our events can help connect students and build a Skule™ community of support and compassion. Outside of school, I love to swim and play the piano. I’m also on the Spark Design Team and have held research positions in CT heart imaging and autism clinical data. I’m looking forward to meeting you at our events!

 

Jethro engSuccess Mentor
Jethro Tong (he/him), Events Subdivision

Hey guys! I’m Jethro and I’m in my second year of MSE pursuing an Entrepreneurship certificate and Engineering Business minor. I am part of the BlueSky Solar Racing Design Team and some of my hobbies are tennis, pottery, and cooking. I have also interned at a metallurgy research lab and a business strategy consulting firm. Previously, I struggled with finding direction in my future aspirations and balancing responsibilities. In this role, I hope to connect with you and be an additional pillar of support. I’m always down to chat!

 

Kenji engSuccess Mentor

Kenji Ku (he/him), Events Subdivision

Hello everyone! My name is Kenji and I’m in my second year of Computer Engineering. Aside from my studies, I enjoy playing a lot of sports such as badminton, soccer and tennis. I joined EngSuccess to help students have a great and smooth transition from high school to their new chapter in university. I was once in that position as well and I understand how difficult it may be. I like meeting new people and making friends, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to me anytime! Caitlin engSuccess Mentor

Caitlin Li (she/her), Events Subdivision

Hey everyone! My name is Caitlin. I’m in my third year of MSE, pursuing the Engineering Business Minor. I joined engSuccess with the goal of providing support to students and helping create a sense of belonging to the Skule™ community. I am part of Skule™ International Transition Directorship (ITD) and have interned in the automotive sector focusing on electric vehicles and in a material quality inspection lab. In my spare time, I love to play archery and explore desert places. I'm looking forward to meeting you at our events!

Hey everyone! My name is Josh. I'm a third-year MSE student pursuing Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Business minors. I'm the Vice Chair of the Materials Science Engineering Club (MSE Club) and a Business Development Representative at You’re Next Career Network (YNCN). Hello! My name is Paige. I am in my third year of EngSci in the Biomedical option. I am a commuter student and the co-mentorship director at the Club for Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering (CUBE). I joined engSuccess to help facilitate your connection to the heart of the Skule™ community. I really enjoy baking chocolate cakes, as well as crocheting in parks and cafes. Hi! My name is Alex and I am an ECE 2T2 + PEY! I joined engSuccess to help younger students succeed at U of T while maintaining a strong work-life balance. I am involved with the Spark Design Club and the Blue and Gold Committee that welcomes new students! In my spare time, I love binge-watching tv shows, sailing, board games, musicals, photography and Disney! I’m looking forward to getting to know all of you!

 

Vivek engSuccess Mentor

Vivek Dhande (he/him), Events Subdivision

Hi everyone! I’m Vivek. I'm an EngSci 2T4 + PEY in the Engineering Physics option. I joined engSuccess to share my perspective, meet like-minded and diverse people, and organize cool events! I am a founding organizer of the Quantum-Science Information Technology & Engineering (Q-SITE) educational conference on quantum computing! In my summer research, I studied quantum dots and single-electron transistors. Outside of school, I enjoy playing the trumpet, going on long-distance runs, and hiking. We're here to support you and I can't wait to meet you at our events!
