How to Register

Here are the key details you need to know for registration in the 2021-2022 academic year:

  • Unlike many first-year university students, your courses will be automatically added to your timetable on ACORN by early August.
  • The only step you need to take to officially register as a student is to make a fee payment or deferral no later than August 19 (for OSAP/government financial aid recipients – scroll down for further info about this).
  • Tuition fees will be listed on your ACORN account later in July.
  • If you’re receiving a scholarship from U of T, it will be applied automatically to your ACORN invoice during the fall semester. You can subtract the amount of your scholarship from your minimum payment to register.
  • More specific info about fee payments and deferrals will be included in upcoming First Year News Feed editions, and you can also
find more information in the Guide to First Year
  • Need proof that you are student for a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP), travel documents or other purposes? The Office of the Registrar offers students Verification of Current Enrolment letters and Letters of Registration.

OSAP/Financial Aid

If you are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person in need of financial aid, and have not yet applied for OSAP (or for non-Ontario residents, your province’s student loan program), please submit your application right away. Although applications are accepted even after the start of classes, applying now means you will be able to defer your tuition in ACORN by the August 19 deadline. As well, applying now ensures your funds are sent to the University early in September.

To learn more about financial aid, please see the Enrolment Services website and the Student Accounts website. You can read more about financial aid and other financial matters in the Guide to First Year

Final Transcripts

At this time, our offices are closed to courier traffic; we will process incoming postal mail but there may be a delay.

  • If you are a current Ontario high school student, your grades will be forwarded to our Admissions office automatically by the OUAC.
  • If you are a current BC high school student and have not already done so, complete your Post-Secondary Institution (PSI) selections through the BC Ministry of Education StudentTranscripts
    Service
     by mid-July.
  • Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) results should be sent electronically from the issuing body directly to the University of Toronto.
  • U of T is registered to receive electronic documents via Naviance
    eDocs/Docufide (Parchment Exchange)
  • Instructions for how to submit final transcripts/results for all other applicants is available on the Engineering
    Applicant Portal
. If you have any questions, please contact the Engineering Undergraduate Admissions Office.
