Appointments & Advising

How Can We Help You?

The Engineering Learning Strategist and upper-year engSuccess peer mentors support you to explore learning strategies and new ways of learning to help you achieve your academic goals.

Where to Start

The first place to seek support with improving your academic skills and navigating your undergraduate journey is to meet with an engSuccess peer mentor.

Step 1: engSuccess Academic Skills Mentorship Meetings

Trained upper-year students representing the various Engineering programs can provide tools and tips for effective time management, dealing with procrastination, note-taking, exam preparation, and navigating resources and services. You can book a meeting with engSuccess mentors via MS Bookings starting September 16.

Step 2: Learning Strategist Appointments

For additional support, U of T Engineering undergrads can make appointments with the Engineering Learning Strategist, Mehnaz, through the Advising Portal.

Learning Strategies Appointments (45 minutes)

Consider booking a Learning Strategies appointment for proactive approaches to better understand and enhance your learning. As well as for more comprehensive learning-related support. These appointments can be booked up to two weeks in advance and are 45 minutes in length.

How to prepare: It is recommended that you schedule an appointment with an engSuccess Academic Skills Mentor first to clarify your learning goals, learn about helpful study skills strategies, and be better prepared for your appointment with Mehnaz.

Additionally, students are encouraged to be proactive by exploring the Learning Strategies Tools and Resources while waiting for an appointment. There are additional resources available through the Centre for Learning Strategies Services.

How to book: Book through the Advising Portal up to two weeks in advance.
