SUMMARY:Last Day to Drop Full-Year Courses Without Academic Penalty
DESCRIPTION:February 16\, 2026\, is the last day students can drop Full Year (Y-Term) courses without academic penalty. \nNotes: \n\nPlease be aware that a student taking a Y-term course will not be allowed to drop this course in the Winter Term if a recalculation of their Fall Term load shows that dropping the course will reduce the F-term course load to fewer than 2.5 credits.\nThe last date to cancel a course or cancel your registration in a session with no academic penalty may not always coincide with the last date that you are eligible for a refund. Review the refund schedules for applicable dates and deadlines: studentaccount.utoronto.ca.\n\nFor the complete list of sessional dates\, visit the Engineering Academic Calendar.

SUMMARY:ACE Workshop: GenAI for Engineering Students (In-Person)
DESCRIPTION:Event Details\nDate: Wednesday\, February 4\, 2026\nTime: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.\nLocation: GB117 (In-Person)*\nRegistration: Complete the registration form. (Registration is required)\n*Depending on registration numbers\, food/snacks may be provided \nEvent Information\nWork Smarter with AI\, Without Crossing the Line (In-Person) \nUsing tools like ChatGPT for homework or problem-solving\, but not sure what’s allowed? Wondering how to use AI to learn better instead of accidentally sabotaging your grades or academic integrity? \nGenAI can be a powerful learning tool when used correctly. This workshop shows you how to use AI to support your learning without doing the work for you. \nWhy This Matters (Backed by Research & Policy) \nResearch in learning science shows that AI can: \n\nImprove understanding when used as a tutor or guide\nHelp break down complex problems and concepts\nSupport efficient studying and exam prep\n\nBut misuse can: \n\nReduce learning and problem-solving skills\nLead to academic integrity violations\nCreate over-reliance that hurts long-term performance\n\nKnowing the difference matters. \nWhat You Will Learn \nIn this interactive session\, you will learn: \n\nWhat GenAI is and what it’s good (and bad) at\nHow to interpret and follow your instructor’s AI rules\nHow to use AI to check understanding without copying answers\nWhat not to do with AI (and why it can backfire)\nHow to stay within academic integrity guidelines
