SUMMARY:E-Buddy: UHIP Information Session
DESCRIPTION:Are you an incoming first-year international U of T Engineering student? The First Year E-Buddy Program is here to support you with your transition to the Faculty and the University! E-Buddies are upper-year engineering peer mentors who will provide support by answering questions about life at U of T Engineering\, sharing their experiences\, and providing information about campus resources. \nE-Buddy Workshop: University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) Information Session\nThe University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) is mandatory healthcare coverage for registered international and exchange students while they study in Ontario. Students must remain actively registered as a student at U of T to maintain their UHIP coverage. After becoming registered\, it may take up to 10 business days for students to receive a welcome email from Cowan with their certificate number and instructions to access their UHIP card. Students can now access their cards either with their certificate number or their University ID (‘U’ + student number). \nFor more information about UHIP\, take a look at the UHIP 101 PDF\, a coverage comparison (PDF) between UHIP\, OHIP\, and the supplemental healthcare plan! The UHIP website also has extension and exemption checker tools for those looking for information about opting out of or extending their UHIP coverage. \nJoin us for this information session to learn more about UHIP and for a Q&A.
