Navigating and Healing through Anti-Black Trauma
Caring for myself is not self-indulgence. It is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare – Audre Lorde
Join us as we engage in conversation and body movement as we give space to our emotions and fortify our resolve to ending anti-Black racism. This session is open to all persons who identify as being members of the Black community.
The Hill Insider Restoration team will facilitate a two-hour program of conversation/activity for healing, strength and empowerment:
- This session will begin with a guided discussion around honouring Black lives, navigating through trauma and impacting change, led by Randi-Mae Stanford-Leibold;
- We will flow into a meditation practice while sharing breathing techniques to manage anxiety, fear and stress; and
- We will end with a restorative yoga flow. This gentle movement practice is designed to teach participants to hold loving space for themselves and their community. Facilitated by Yamikani Msosa.
The Microsoft Teams meeting information is available on ARCDO’s website.
