Internships, Jobs & Careers

All U of T Engineering undergraduates are required to gain 600 hours of professional experience before they may graduate.

As a professional Faculty, U of T Engineering is here to help you gain experience in professional engineering through internships like the Professional Experience Year Co-op Program (PEY Co-op), Engineering Summer Internship Program (ESIP) and new graduate opportunities, which all work towards preparing you for a successful career.

Engineering students have access to two career centres: the Engineering Career Centre and U of T Career Centre.

The Engineering Career Centre focuses on preparing students for professional opportunities. With its extensive experience in career development and preparation, the Centre offers a series of workshops and individual appointments to assist students with self-assessment, resume development, cover letter writing, interview preparation and strategies for looking for a job.

The U of T Career Centre engages, empowers and supports current and prospective students and recent graduates as they create their life goals.

Two internship opportunities are available at U of T Engineering: Professional Experience Year Co-op Program (PEY Co-op) and Engineering Summer Internship Program (ESIP).

The PEY Co-op is a 12-16 month internship for qualified U of T Engineering and Arts & Science students in their second or third year of study.

ESIP is a four-month summer co-op program for undergraduate U of T Engineering students in their second or third year of study

Part-time positions are also available. The Work-Study Program provides students with opportunities to work and gain practical experience during the school year. The University of Toronto Career Centre maintains a list of job and volunteer opportunities.
