Confirmation of Registration

Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, staff in U of T Engineering’s Registrar’s Office are currently working remotely. As such, at this time, the Registrar’s Office is unable to provide the traditional hard-copy registration/confirmation of graduation letters that bear the Faculty seal. To best serve our students and the community, official letters issued after March 17, 2020, will be issued as PDFs until further notice.

The Office of the Registrar or University, depending on what is required, assists students in confirming registration, which includes official transcripts, letters of registration and degree verification.

Official Transcripts

An official University of Toronto transcript is printed on certified paper and lists a student's full academic history at the time of printing. It is the official version of the transcript students can view in the "Academic History" section of ACORN.

Students can order official transcripts from the Transcript Centre or through ACORN. Details on cost and processing times can be found on the Transcript Centre's website.

Verification of Current Enrolment

Verification of Enrolment is a summary of your current undergraduate student status. There is no cost for this service.

The summary of your undergraduate student status is printed on official U of T Engineering letterhead and certified with a stamp from the Office of the Registrar. The information printed on the verification includes your name, address, degree program, current session and year of study and registration status.* Please email for a copy.

Letters of Registration

Letters of Registration confirm a student's registration within the Faculty and University. Letters are printed on official letterhead and certified with a stamp. As such, letters cannot be faxed or sent by email.*

Letters of Registration can confirmation one or more of the following:

  • Current and/or past registration
  • Year and program of study
  • Eligibility to enrol in an upcoming session
  • Expected graduation date


$8.00 plus $0.50 for additional copies. Letters are not processed until payment is received.

The accepted form of payment is credit card. Credit card payments must be made through the Engineering Portal. After which, students should write the confirmation number on the Letter of Registration request form.


To order a Letter of Registration, a student must complete the Letter of Registration request form and submit it to the Office of the Registrar:

Letters take approximately 3-5 days to process (does not include mailing time, if requested). During busy periods, the processing time may be longer.

Degree Verification

All third-party requests for verification of a graduate's degree are processed by U of T's Confirmation of Degree website.

U of T graduates who require a letter of degree confirmation should visit the University's Certification of Degree website.

Successful Completion of Degree

Students who have completed their degree requirements can request a Letter of Degree Completion. This letter will indicate that the student has completed their degree requirements, the length of the program and the program of study. Please email ( the Office of the Registrar for more information.
